Godspell is a feature film being created in New Zealand and Australia in digital format, aimed at an international festival audience.
Clark is a man on a journey of destiny, but he’s been stuck in his 9-5 job, for the last oh, 17 years. His escape plan is coming along nicely though – the online religion. His boss is getting near the end of his tether at Clark’s increasing aloofness – ’surfing’ on the work computer, strange decorations in the office, not to mention Clark’s newfound ‘hobby’ of street preaching – in his lunch hour.
But Clark has it all figured. He’s merely to inform his few friends of the plan, and get on the road. Clark quits his job. While cleaning his office, he receives a phone call telling him that his house is burning to the ground !
He readies his travelling needs, including a towable live-in project boat, and leaves town on a quest to ‘meet and greet’ his dovotees and finally, commune with the Elephants in a distant land . . .
The setting is modern day European city – a blackly comic road movie, themes of creativity, celebrity and madness.
The core creative team behind this project is New Zealanders Darcy Gladwin (filmmaker) and Shane Hollands (performance poet). They have created the film idea based on their own lives and collaborative experiences. Biography information here.

Every time it screens I get some really good feedback so the edit just keeps getting better ! The only thing left to do is to find some compositing genius who can create a style for all the internet screen viewing that will be necessary to the film. ie. need an innovative way of displaying key information without having to read scads of text (boring on screen) . .
